Wishful Thinking (Australia)

Wishful Thinking is a Christian punk band from Melbourne, Australia on Boomtown Records. They changed their name to Wishful in late 2005.

In mid 2006, Wishful decided to split, with this statement from Boomtown Records.

"WISHFUL ANNOUNCE BREAK-UP...

It is with mixed emotions that WISHFUL announce their breakup. After 2 albums, 2 singles and hundreds of shows, the time has come for this chapter to close. However, the guys are anticipating greater things to come as they face new beginnings.

Think you've already seen the last of WISHFUL? Not yet! WISHFUL will be playing four shows on the Boomtown Showdown tour, then a farewell tour including Canberra, Melbourne and Adelaide and their last show at Blackstump Music Festival at the end of September.

As planned, WISHFUL are recording an exciting BRAND NEW 7 TRACK EP to be released before these shows. The final EP will be a celebration of their career and will include great new material."

The final EP, "You Never See It Coming" will be released on August the 14th, 2006.

WISHFUL played their last song at Blackstump Music festival for the Blackstump Musical challenge, their song being Piano Man (billy Joel).
