Steve Wishnevsky, [wishnevsky.com] Founder of wishbass [wishbass.com], was born Stephen T. Wishnevsky in 1945. He was a Folksinger, and an early participant in the Old Time String Band Revival of the 1970's.

He studied musical instrument making under David A. Sturgill, of Piney Creek, North Carolina. Sturgill is featured in Foxfire Book 3.

Wishbass was formed in 2000 with the aim of providing minimal priced instruments direct to musicians.

Wishnevsky is a prize winning poetry slam competitior, 1991-3, had a poem published in "The Exquite Corpse". Has published the first biography of WWII General Courtney Hodges on MacFarland, and is self-publishing a history of the Old Time Revivial under the title "How the Hippies Ruin't Hillbilly Music", from iUniverse.

He is the father of Science Fiction and Fantasy writer Elizabeth Bear
