Winston Hills, New South Wales

Winston Hills is a suburb in Parramatta City Council, 28 kilometers North-West of Sydney, Australia. It has a population of around 7,000 people. The suburb was named after Britain's war-time Prime Minister Sir Winston Churchill (1874-1965). In the early days, however, it was named Model Farms as this was the area where a model farm was developed to show settlers the types of crops that could be grown in different seasons. However, The development of the suburb was mainly completed during the 1960's. There are two state primary schools, Winston Hills Public School and Winston Heights Public School and a Catholic primary school in Winston Hills. Parks were not forgotten in the planning, so there are many parklands to relax in. There is also much bushland in the area with dense vegetation, creeks and wildlife. The town is also complete with both Winston Hills Girl Guides, Scouts and junior soccer, rugby league and netball clubs.
