Wings (computer game)
From Wikipedia, the free encyclopedia
Wings is a World War I flying game, originally released in 1990 for the Commodore Amiga. It featured a mixture of gameplay styles including 3D dog fights, top down bombing missions and scrolling strafing sections. The game was arcade oriented, but featured the story narrative and atmospheric presentation that typified many of Cinemaware's titles. The simulation is not based on any real aircraft, but roughly based on the performance of aeroplanes of the era.
Wings GBA is roughly the same game, although it has been updated with improved graphics, new features, and increased gameplay options. This version is available for the Game Boy Advance platform.
Wings was also ported to Flash, so it can be played online in a web browser for free. This version is currently in beta. It currently consists of a single dog fighting mission.
