[edit] Plot summary
Upon hearing that Token has won a contest that will allow him to sing at a beauty pageant and receive $200, Stan, Cartman, Kyle, and Kenny decide to mooch off of his talent by becoming his agents. They lose him to another talent agency, however, only to land a singer named Wing, who is the wife of the City Wok owner. Recently smuggled into the United States by the Chinese Mafia, Wing has been set to audition for American Idol, and the boys' "Super Awesome Talent Agency" agrees to bring her to Los Angeles for the competition. This venture does not go as planned, but the boys get a gig singing at the wedding of Sylvester Stallone's son after the boys enter Wing into The Contender. Sylvester Stallone was impressed with Wing's singing voice while she was being beaten to a pulp by one of the boxers on The Contender. However, by this time, Wing has been kidnapped by the Chinese Mafia for not paying the $10,000 owed to them for getting her into the States. The boys, mistaking the Mafia for the talent agency that stole Token, go after Wing to get back their client. In the end, both the Mafia and the boys realize that their businesses are dirty and exploit the hopes of others, and all decide to quit. At the end of the episode, we find out that Wing is real, and see a promotional ad for her website.
[edit] Trivia
- Wing is a real singer [1], who guest starred as herself.
- The full address to Cartman's house is revealed: 23345 Ave. de los Mexicanos, but based on the backpack Jakov found in episode "Jakovasaurs", Cartman lives on 21208 E. Bonanza Circle.
[edit] References to Pop culture
- In this episode, Token is singing "You'll Never Find Another Love Like Mine" by Lou Rawls. This is the second appearance of this song in the series.
- There are several references to the 1983 film Scarface in the latter stages of the episode. The entrance to the Chinese Mafia's mansion resembles the Coral Gables mansion that Tony Montana resides in. When Kenny dies, Kyle holds him and comforts him, much like Tony does to his sister after she is shot dead. Also, Cartman utters the words "You want to play rough? Okay" which, in the film, precede the infamous line "Say hello to my little friend".
[edit] Kenny's death
- Kenny dies shot by the chinese mafia.
