Winfield S. Sherwood

Winfield Scott Sherwood (1817-June 25, 1870) was one of the original signers of the 1849 California Constitution. In July 14, 1849 Sherwood was elected delegate to Constitutional Convention. He ran against Peter H. Burnett in the first statewide election for California Governor after Mexican rule in 1849, but he lost. He would later become a district judge.
He was originally from New York. Folsom Lake SRA is named after him.
