Willie Pettigrew

William Pettigrew (born 2 October 1953, in Motherwell) is a former Scottish international footballer who played as a striker.
Pettigrew started his career with Hibernian but left Easter Road for junior side East Kilbride Thistle after failing to make a first-team breakthrough. He joined Motherwell in 1972, enjoying his most productive spell at Fir Park during which he won 5 caps for Scotland.
In 1979, Dundee United purchased Pettigrew for £100,000 and he won the Scottish League Cup in each of the two seasons he spent at Tannadice before a £120,000 move to Heart of Midlothian. He moved to Greenock Morton in 1984 and finished off his playing days with Hamilton Academical a season later.
