Willie Nelson Biodiesel

From Wikipedia, the free encyclopedia

Willie Nelson Biodiesel is the name of an American company started by popular songwriter Willie Nelson[1]. The company produces a biodiesel fuel called BioWillie made of soybean and other vegetable oils that can be used in modern diesel engines instead of regular fuel without vehicle modifications. This contributes to renewable fuel production in America, thereby relaxing dependence on foreign sources of oil.

Nelson has said, "There is really no need going around starting wars over oil. We have it here at home. We have the necessary product, the farmers can grow it[2]."

As of June 2006, there were 22 outlets in six states (per the BioWillie website), most of which (16) were located in Texas, primarily near Dallas.
