William "Willie" Cicci is a fictional character appearing in Mario Puzo's novel The Godfather and two of the three films based on it. He was portrayed by Joe Spinell in both, The Godfather and The Godfather Part II.
In both films Willie played as a soldier in the Corleone family. In the first film he is the one who kills Ottilio Cuneo, the boss of the Cuneo crime family. He trapped him in a revolving door then killed him by shooting him with a pistol. In the second film he is Frank Pentangeli's right hand man. Pentangeli took over Peter Clemenza's role as caporegime in the family after Clemenza supposedly died of a heart attack. When Pentangeli goes to meet with the Rosato brothers who he has disputed with, wanting to have permission to have them killed. Willie is told to wait in the car. Pentangeli is ambushed and almost killed by a garrote until a cop passes by and interupts the hit. A shoot out goes into the street where Cicci is hit then run over by a car as the hitmen are escaping. He then decided to rat on the family since he thought that Michael Corleone wanted him and Pentangeli dead. Cicci tells of his position in the family, and Michael's, also that he has killed for the Corleones to the Senate.
