Williams & Connolly LLP is a prominent litigation firm based in Washington, D.C. The firm was founded by legendary trial lawyer Edward Bennett Williams.
Recent high profile cases include the successful defense of U.S. President Clinton's impeachment, representation of Enron's law firm Vinson & Elkins, defense of the Vioxx cases, representation of the motion picture studios in the Kazaa/Grokster file-trading litigation, and counsel for the plaintiff states in the United States v. Microsoft antitrust remedy trial. Currently the firm is representing former Cendant CEO Walter Forbes who is about to be tried for a third time for his role in one of the first high profile accounting scandals. The firm managed to hang the jury in the first two trials. The firm is also currently representing Coach Larry Brown in his dispute with the New York Knicks.
In past years the firm represented Colonel Oliver North during the Iran-Contra Affair, and defended John Hinckley, the would-be assassin of President Reagan, and President Clinton during the impeachment hearings. The firm's senior partner is Brendan Sullivan.
