William Yates Peel

William Yates Peel (3 August 1789 – 1 June 1858), educated at Harrow and at St John's College, Cambridge, was a Member of Parliament from 1817 to 1837, and again from 1847 to 1852; he was undersecretary for home affairs in 1828, and was a Lord of the Treasury in 1830 and again in 1834-1835.
He represented several constituencies, including:
- Bossiney from 1817 to 1818,
- Tamworth 1818 to 1830,
- Yarmouth 1830 to 1831,
- Cambridge University 1831 to 1832,
- Tamworth in 1847,
He was appointed as a Privy Councillor in 1834.
He was a younger brother of the Prime Minister Sir Robert Peel.
