The William Osler Health Centre (WOHC) is one of the largest hospital corporations in the Canadian province of Ontario. It serves a geographic area of over 2,400 square kilometres including Brampton and Etobicoke. It provides programs and services to over 900,000 residents of those and surrounding communities. With a health care team of more than 670 physicians, 3,700 staff and 1,000 volunteers, it provides services through two hospital facilities while striving to provide a single standard of care. It has an annual operating budget of $260 million CAD.

  • Brampton Civic Hospital – a 608 bed facility in northeast Brampton to open in 2007
  • Peel Memorial Hospital – a 367 bed facility, opened in 1925, located in central Brampton
  • Etobicoke General Hospital – a 262 bed facility, opened in 1972, located in the west of Toronto

The Brampton Civic Hospital located on Bovaird Drive and Bramalea Road will open in 2007, bringing the number of hospitals in WOHC to three. It will have 608 beds and accommodate 90,000 emergency patient visits, 160,000 ambulatory care visits and 110,000 outpatient visits annually.
