William Noel Benson

William Noel Benson (26 December 1885 – 20 August 1957) Research geologist, professor of geology.
Benson was born in London, studied in Hobart and Sydney. Appointed in 1917 to the chair of geology and mineralogy at the University of Otago, Dunedin, New Zealand.
Awarded the Clarke Medal by the Royal Society of New South Wales in 1945.
