William Malone is an American filmmaker who directed such films as the 1999 remake of House on Haunted Hill. His films generally receive poor ratings from critics. House on Haunted Hill, while generating over $40 million U.S. received universally poor ratings. His later film FeardotCom was criticized for being highly derivative of the more successful film The Ring.

Despite this, his movies contain an unparalleled amount of ambience, camp, gore, and horror making them perfect for the genre.
