William Kraft

William Kraft (born 1923, in Chicago, Illinois) is a composer, conductor, teacher, and percussionist. From 1981-85, Kraft was the Composer-in-Residence for the Los Angeles Philharmonic. Kraft was a member of the Los Angeles Philharmonic for 26 years. The first 8 years Kraft played percussion, and the rest he was Principal Timpanist. Kraft was also the conductor of the orchestra for 3 seasons. Kraft Has composed over 100 pieces, a majority of which for Percussion.
