William J. Mann

William J. Mann is an openly gay author who has written several novels, including The Men From the Boys, The Biograph Girl, Where the Boys Are, and All American Boy, as well as four film-related non-fiction books: Wisecracker, a biography of film star William Haines; Behind the Screen: How Gays and Lesbians Shaped Hollywood 1910-1969 about the influence of LGBT people in the film industry during Hollywood's golden age; Edge of Midnight, a biography of John Schlesinger; and Kate: The Woman Who Was Hepburn, a new biography of Katharine Hepburn which was published on 3 October 2006.
