William Charles Wentworth

William Charles Wentworth is the name of several members of the Wentworth family in New South Wales, Australia.

  • William Wentworth (1790-1872) helped discover a way across the Blue Mountains to the west of Sydney, along with Gregory Blaxland and William Lawson. He was also a prominent poet, journalist and politician.

  • William Charles Wentworth III, son of the above
  • William Wentworth IV (1907-2003), son of the above, was a Liberal member of the Australian House of Representatives 1949-77, with a reputation as a fierce anti-Communist.
