Willem Kes (Dordrecht, Netherlands February 16, 1856 - Munich, Germany February 22, 1934), was a Dutch conductor and violinist. He was the first principal conductor of the Concertgebouw Orchestra of Amsterdam, holding that position between 1888 and 1895. He left the Concertgebouw Orchestra to take up a conducting post in Scotland with the Glasgow Symphony Orchestra. From 1905 to 1926, Kes was director of a music conservatory in Koblenz.
