Will Wyatt

Will Wyatt (born January 7, 1942) is a British television producer and executive. His career began in 1964 as a trainee journalist on the Sheffield Telegraph newspaper, before moving to the BBC in 1965 as a sub-editor in BBC radio. In 1968 he transferred across to BBC Television, working for the Presentation Department. There he worked on shows such as Late Night Line-Up, eventually becoming a producer working on several productions throughout the 1970s.

By 1978 he had risen to become Assistant Head of the Presentation Department, and from 1981 to 1987 he was Head of Documentary Features. In 1988 he was made Assistant Managing Director of BBC Television, eventually being promoted to occupy the full Managing Director post. He remained in that position for five years, before he became Chief Executive of BBC Broadcast in 1996, a role he fulfilled for the following three years.

He was also for a time the Deputy Director-General of the BBC, under the aegis of Director-General John Birt.

In 2002 he became the Chairman of Human Capital limited[1], a media strategy and research consultancy.
