Wildstreak (Tamika Bowden) is a fictional character in the Marvel Comics universe. She first appered in Fantastic Four Annual #26, and was created by Tom DeFalco and Herb Trimpe.

[edit] Character biography

Wildstreak's father was once a Hydra agent, but he resigned when his wife got pregnant. Unfortunately Wildstreak's mother died shortly after she was born and was raised only by her father. Tamika grew up to become an excellent gymnast, where she developed a crush on a boy named Carl Washington. Unfortunately Carl dropped out of school and without Tamika knowing it, he became a weapons dealer.

Tamika later focused on her gymnastics and could win an Olympic medal for it, were it not for gang member Big John Buscelli. John offered Tamika to join Hydra but she declined. Not accepting no for an answer, John caused an incident which robbed her of the use of her legs. During her recovery Tamika decided to develop an exo-skeleton which could provide her to walk. Succeeding in this, she decided to use her power for good and become the super-hero known as Wildstreak.

One of her first adventures included a team-up with the Fantastic Four, helping them against the villain known as Dreadface.

During one of her next super-hero adventures Wildstreak came face to face with Big John again and saw that Carl was working for him. Devastated and still unsure about her feelings for Carl, she let him escape. This event caught the attention of Thunderstrike and the vigilante Sangre. While Thunderstrike stopped Big John, Sangre got out of control and shot Carl.

[edit] Civil War

Main article: Civil War (comics)

Not appearing since, Wildstreak recently was seen again as one of the many apprehended super-heroes opposed to the Super-Hero registration act forged during the Civil War event. However, as shown in Fantastic Four #540, she was in the process of being transported to the Negative Zone when the guards got too close to the machinery and it shorted out, releasing Wildstreak from her containment hold. She managed to evade the guards through the Baxter Building, and escaped with the help of the Invisible Woman, who had turned her invisible.
