Wildflower is an album by American singer-songwriter Sheryl Crow, first released September 27, 2005 (see 2005 in music). The album has a more orchestral feel than her previous albums. Although the album debuted at #2, it received mixed reviews and was not as commercially successful as hoped. In December 2005, however, the album was nominated for a Best Pop Vocal Album Grammy Award, while Sheryl Crow was nominated for a Best Female Pop Vocal Performance Grammy Award for the song "Good Is Good."

[edit] Track Info
- "I Know Why" first debuted on an episode of Oprah long before the album was released.
- "Perfect Lie" - Crow revealed on Sirius Satellite Radio that the song was about a couple she knew that was going through a divorce. A CD single featuring an acoustic version of the song was released exclusively to Barnes & Noble in 2005. This acoustic version has since been made available on iTunes.
- "Good Is Good"
- "Chances Are" first appeared as a B-side on the 2002 single "Soak Up the Sun", but the Wildflower version has an added stringed instrument aspect. A misprint appears in the album booklet regarding the lyrics. Instead of "Terror runs for King I said," the lyric is "Terrence McKenna said".
- "Wildflower" first debuted on a tsunami benefit concert, after which fans dubbed it "Free to Fly".
- "Lifetimes" is an upbeat and positive track about love and commitment. In 2006, many fans at Crow's official website suggested it should be the second single from the album. Instead, the song "Always on Your Side" was released, a song the majority of fans preferred.
- "Letter to God" questions whether God exists as the majority today views him/her/it. Jeff Trott, co-writer of the song, has expressed this to be one of his favorites of the album. Lance Armstrong also revealed on his radio show that it was his favorite track from the album.
- "Live It Up" segues in from the previous track, "Letter to God". The song was featured on commercials for Good Morning America in 2005 when Sheryl Crow was scheduled to perform.
- "I Don't Wanna Know"
- "Always on Your Side"
- "Where Has All the Love Gone" contains a shot at President George W. Bush with the lyric "Today I saw the strangest thing / On the evening news / A man who wasn't sad at all / By what's going on"[citation needed]. The song debuted during a performance by Crow for Sessions @ AOL.
