WILN-FM

From Wikipedia, the free encyclopedia

WILN, branded as Island 106, is a contemporary hit radio station in Panama City, Florida, owned by Magic Broadcasting LLC. Currently, Jo Valentine is the program director and afternoon host (12-6pm). Dan, Ryan, Biscuit and Killa' Cam are the morning show (5:30am to 10am) dubbed, The Island 106 Wake Up Call. Kato is the night DJ.

The Wake Up Call is on myspace. Now on Panama City radio for almost 2 years, this morning show is known for performing various stunts on the air. The most notable was the protest of a construction project [1] that had the police scrambling to find the station vehicle as it was being driven across the city's main bridge. After being lambasted on air, the show almost lost their jobs. The driver of the vehicle, show member Biscuit, was blindfolded. The show has also helped to raise close to $500,000 for charities in the local area. Every year, Island 106 participates in the "Toys For Kids" toy drive.
