this Willie Hung dude perhaps has all the "guts", but no "backbone" at all. Forget about what they say about accepting him, encouraging him and making him a "midgit joe millionair" type celebrity. And honestly I don't fucking care about him getting all the publicity and making himself such an alternative American idol.
The bottom line is: he is there to be made fun of, not only because of his looks and vocal skills (which is surprisingly not that awful!), but also because of his fitting into the "Cartoon Chinaman" stereotype.
I remember an overweight, nerdy, bald Norwegian guy being selected "World Idol" but that's totally different: he was not selected to be laughed at, but out of the genuine acceptance of his "averageness" by the audience and his hard-earned merit in the vocal department.
If Hung Willie was a slanted eyed, buck-toothed, whimpy, geeky WHITE guy who sings off-tune... or even a Black guy like this, he wouldn't be so funny or "popular".
In fact, no matter how much "guts" a White/Black guy of the Jerry-Springer genre has, he wouldn't have even made it to the American idols audition. So, "he has guts" my ass!

Honestly there are some people whose parents consumed way too much dope before they were born, so they look and act so funny that you just can't help.
William is not one of these people. He'd actually look pretty normal if I run into him on the street. The fact that he's made out to be an object of Chinaman caricaturization makes American society all the more grotesque, disrespectful and unfriendly.
How the hell did a pretty normal looking Asian man become the symbol of all awkwardness, asexuality, unreflexive dupability, shallow copycathood, and dickless bafoonery?
If it were not the dicklessness of the performer himself plus the tireless media/pop culture cultivation of the Asian stereotype, what is it?
Smiling and "tolerant" though they are, each and every one of them, fucking Fascists.
