[edit] Middle Name

Is there better evidence for his middle name than the Narnia Fans interview? IMDB still lists it as Thomas. Eluchil404 00:00, 2 May 2006 (UTC)

Are you joking or something? If a person says something in an interview about themselves, it is obviously assumed to be true. You can't get much better a source than something out of a person's own mouth. IMDB is a crappy website with crappy information. We actually used to say "William Peter" on this page, until someone believed the IMDB and changed it... sigh Mad Jack O'Lantern 01:03, 2 May 2006 (UTC)

[edit] Trivia needs Citations.

I really don't know how to add wiki tags, so I can't really put it up there in that section. But seriously, even if those little facts are veriable, please link it to the source.

Speaking of cites, can we get one for his school. Edits have gone back and forth but I don't see any evidence of where he attended classes this year in the links added. Eluchil404 00:19, 26 May 2006 (UTC)

According to the first of the links to his school's newspaper he was in Year 12 (penultimate year of British school = U.S. 11th grade) in 2003-04, which is what you would expect given his date of birth. In the normal course of events he would have finished school in Summer 2005, but he spent most of 2004-05 filming and the school still refers to him as as if he is a current student in an edition published after the December 2005 edition of the newspaper. It seems most likely that he effectively skipped the 2004-05 school year and did Year 13 a year later than normal in 2005-06. But that's only a guess based on circumstantial evidence. Twittenham 15:43, 9 July 2006 (UTC)
He says in the Cinema Confidential interview "POSTED ON 12/09/05" that "I really want to finish high school" [sic, I guess he was adapting his terminology for the U.S. audience]. That supports the idea that he did Year 13 in 2005-06. Twittenham 17:33, 9 July 2006 (UTC)
No, I agree with that analysis. My question was whether he was at Wycliffe or Donwsfield Sixth Form this past year since I didn't see any definative statments in the Wycliffe Times cites that he was still as school this year. Eluchil404 22:25, 9 July 2006 (UTC)
Wycliffe is a £20,000 a year private school and Downfield is a state (ie. free) school. I can't see why he would have transferred from the former to the latter unless he suddenly decided he was a socialist. Even if his parent suddenly lost their money he must have been well paid for Narnia so he could have stumped up for his final year himself. Twittenham 06:54, 10 July 2006 (UTC)
I've now found that the article about Marling School says he attended that school, which is a state boys grammar school. In a rather unusual arrangement, Downing Sixth Form is an amalgamation of the sixth form (ie years 12 and 13 = U.S. grades 11 and 12) of Marling School and the local girls grammar. He may have attended a state school to age 16, but changed to a private school at sixth form level, which is a reasonably common practice in the UK. Based on the evidence the most likely history is as set out below:
  • Years 1-6 (1992 to 1998): Primary school
  • Years 7-11 (1998 to 2003): Marling School
  • Years 12-13 (over three years; 2003-2006): Wycliffe

But it's still only a theory. Twittenham 07:01, 10 July 2006 (UTC)

I live in the Stroud area and I have 100% reliable information that he attended Wycliffe College in year 12, then transferred to Marling School (therefore attending Downfield Sixth Form) for year 13 and the remainder of his A-level courses. An unusual decision, but there you go; it's what happened. I doubt very much that "he suddenly decided he was a socialist" (apart from anything else, if he did, the logical choice would be Archway or Stroud College, not Marling, but that seems a strange thing to do anyway).
Of course, I haven't got a written source for any of that, although I know several people who have met him personally. So that's original research, which we can't publish. On the other hand, surely now that we know the truth we shouldn't be printing incorrect speculation, either. RobbieG 17:33, 6 October 2006 (UTC)

[edit] Uncited

Here is the uncited info. If anyone finds a citation for the quotes, please place them on Wikiquote: where he is currently completing his A2 Levels.

  • “I essentially did go from a boy to a young man but that was because of the environmental forces that were pushing me into that role. It's more of the responsibility that I had to deal with. I was halfway around the world living by myself. Living by oneself is something which you deal with and you have to deal with and get on with. I had an amazing safety net below me. But dealing with adults the whole time as well, not with people your own age or people younger than you. We had jobs.”
  • "I don't think it can sink in. I don't think it really stuck me when I first got the part what it was like. I'm fortunate, I'm lucky that it hasn't hit me yet. The weird thing is when you see yourself, as you're driving by, on a poster or you see yourself on a washing up box or something - it's so bizarre. It's just momentary, it's only within those brief few seconds when you see it then you move on with your day. I have a very good family, very good friends and I'm lucky that everyone has been so supportive and kind to me. "

[edit] Photo Date

The photo caption says 2005, which is when the movie was released, but the actual filming of the sequence was in late 2004. Should this be mentioned or elided somehow? Or is that just too pedantic? Eluchil404 02:33, 7 July 2006 (UTC)

[edit] School

He definitely attended Wycliffe College (Gloucestershire) for Year 12 because there is a picture of him in the school paper, which is linked from the article. Did he really attend Downfield Sixth Form as well? What is the source for that? Landolitan 15:28, 9 July 2006 (UTC)

Never was a source but it was added to the article at least once and I (being an American with only the shakiest grasp of British secondary schooling) couldn't tell if it was legitimate of not. Eluchil404 07:02, 10 July 2006 (UTC)
I see where I made my mistake. I was confused by the format of the Wycliffe times links and didn't find the mention of Will in the latest edition and so didn't revert the changes. Thanks guys for bringing some light to the question. Eluchil404 07:08, 10 July 2006 (UTC)

[edit] Double-article

I've moved in content that was accidentally placed in William Moseley, which should be the redirect page. I'll shortly restore some of the content from the page that was here before. Mad Jack 20:15, 19 August 2006 (UTC)

OK, this is the bio that existed over at William Moseley. The writing is poorer and there is a lot of unsourced content, including the quotes (which should be placed at Wikiquote). If anyone wants to restore some of the content/quotes, here it is (there was also a picture which I do not believe is fair use):

"William Thomas Moseley was born on April 27, 1987 in Sheepscombe, Gloucestershire, England in the Cotswolds area . The area is about an hour and a half West of London in the country side with the classic village. He has always wanted to be an actor ever since he was 10 years old. William is the oldest of three siblings, his sister Daisy who is 16 and brother Ben who is 13. His parents are Peter, an English cinematographer, and Julie Moseley. William attented a Primary School in Sheepscombe.

William Moseley is the very lucky boy who got picked out of thousands to play Peter Pevensie from C.S. Lewis masterpiece, The Lion the Witch and the Wardrobe The first book in the epic seven series of The Chronicles of Narnia. He has had a small role in Goodbye, Mr. Chips (2002 TV) and in Cider with Rosie (1998 TV) as an extra.

His family would describe William as a bit bossy but with fine leadership qualities. He doesn't want to be known as just Peter Pevensie but wants to be known as a respectable actor who is very talented. He admits to be an oppionated person who loves to share his thoughts and views. He Likes to play rugby and football, and he is a talented juggler.

"What I hope is that I don't just become "Peter from The Lion, The Witch and The Wardrobe." I want to try and do something else to be a good actor and a respected actor"

"I love it. I really do. I mean, my mum used to get me out of the house on a Sunday morning as a punishment, but I always thought it was fun, just running wild, climbing trees, whatever. And now I'm doing it in a movie! I ride these beautiful Andalusian horses and do all this sword fighting, which is so well choreographed. And the sword they made is so amazing. It's the same guys that made the armour for The Lord Of The Rings and when you see it... Well, it really does take my breath away every time I hold it."

"I'll always have time to falling in love . I don't believe that I won't have time for a girlfriend, because if I do meet someone I like alot, I can't prevent fate. But I'm not worrying so much about it, as I am still young." (smiling)

"I'm enjoying it and that's the best way to look at these things. If you don't enjoy it then it's not worth doing. It is hard work at the end of the day, they're working you for every mile you fly so it's worth enjoying, it's worth relishing every moment you get." (on acting)

“I essentially did go from a boy to a young man but that was because of the environmental forces that were pushing me into that role. It's more of the responsibility that I had to deal with. I was halfway around the world living by myself. Living by oneself is something which you deal with and you have to deal with and get on with. I had an amazing safety net below me. But dealing with adults the whole time as well, not with people your own age or people younger than you. We had jobs.”" Mad Jack 20:19, 19 August 2006 (UTC)

[edit] Personal Life

From the article:

"William is currently dating a young woman by the name of Shannon Mitchell. They have been dating since mid-July, of 2004."

Moseley is a living person, so I don't think we can publish information about his personal life without a citation. RobbieG 16:13, 6 December 2006 (UTC)

I agree. Thanks for spotting that. --Fbv65edel / ☑t / ☛c || 21:51, 6 December 2006 (UTC)
