The Williams Field snow runway is located on the Ross Ice Shelf near McMurdo Station, Anarctica. The airfield is known locally as "Willys Field." The runway services ski-equipped aircraft during summer months. The airfield is named in honor of Richard T. Williams, a U.S. Navy equipment operator who drowned when his D-8 tractor broke through the ice in 1956.
