[edit] Disambiguation page for Ciudad Universitaria

Hola a todos! Since people seem to be shy, I'll start with something. Is it possible that somebody could create a disambiguation page for Ciudad Universitaria? (I don't know how to do it) That link takes you directly to the UNAM's main campus. Nothing wrong with the UNAM but we also have our own Ciudad Universitaria de Caracas( I started the article some time ago and I'm still working on it) which is a UNESCO World Cultural Heritage and therefore, people should be able to find it fairly easy...Don't you think? (03:01, 30 May 2006 (UTC))Caracas1830

Hola, Caracas. Here's an example of how to do a disambiguation page: Tourette. In this case, it would involve renaming and moving the contents of the original article, Ciudad Universitaria, using that page for the disambiguation which would direct towards the Mexico page and the Caracas page. Since there are only two pages to disambiguate, I'm not sure disambiguation is the best way to go ? Perhaps it would be better in this case to add a line to the top of the Ciudad Universitaria article, similar to the line at the top of Tourette syndrome, which refers people to Ciudad Universitaria de Caracas. I'll do that for now, but if you really want a disambiguation page, I think I know how to do it now. Sandy 14:50, 17 June 2006 (UTC)
Thank you Sandy! Somehow I didn't think of adding a line(?!) the simpler the better. I think that is the best solution (Caracas1830 18:57, 17 June 2006 (UTC))

[edit] Standardized naming conventions in Presidents

See Talk:List of Presidents of Venezuela. Shouldn't we change the presidential names in all lists and templates to either both surnames, or one surname ? They are inconsistent throughout the presidential lists. My suggestion is that the List of Presidents of Venezuela should contain both surnames for all presidents, while the template at the bottom of that page should contain only one surname, for brevity. [edit] Data for vote tally tables

I noticed that the vote tally tables used in several articles (like Hugo Chávez) are not referenced and sourced. I found the data for one of them, and included the reference in the template, Template:ChavezElections2000. Can anyone help locate a reference for the vote tallies in Template:ChavezElections2004, Template:ChavezElections1999, and Template:ChavezElections1998 ? Thanks! Sandy 14:50, 17 June 2006 (UTC)

Done. Sandy 13:07, 25 August 2006 (UTC)

[edit] Wikify Orlando Urdaneta

Can anyone wikify Orlando Urdaneta? Seems he called for the assassination of Chavez, and non-Venezuelans might not know who he is. Sandy 19:41, 25 June 2006 (UTC)

I started a small biography today (Caracas1830 15:59, 26 June 2006 (UTC))

[edit] Sync Bolivarian Missions with the Missions template

Missions of the Bolivarian Revolution
— food — housing — medicine —
Barrio Adentro  · Plan Bolivar 2000
Hábitat  · Mercal
— education —
Ribas  · Sucre
Robinson I  · Robinson II
— indigenous rights — land — environment —
Guaicaipuro  · Identidad
Miranda  · Piar
Vuelta al Campo  · Vuelvan Caras
Zamora
— (Hugo Chávez) — (Venezuela) —

The Bolivarian Missions template does not agree with the article.

  • For consistency, they should be in the same order
  • The template does not include Florentino, Arbol, and Ciencia
  • The article does not include Plan Bolivar 2000 and Piar

[edit] WP:VRNB

Howdy. I created the regional notice board for the project. Actually, I made it as a sort of extension, to display news and updates. Go to: Wikipedia:Venezuela-related regional notice board.

[edit] Missing articles for places with > 100,000 population

This is a list of towns and cities in Venezuela believed to have 100,000 or more inhabitants that did not yet have a Wikipedia article as of August 30 2006.

  • Ciudad Losada -- appears to be a new town development, not many mentions on Google, but this definitely appears to be a real place
  • Departamento Vargas - is this the same as the state of Vargas or the municipality of Vargas, or something else entirely?
  • Lagunillas - not es:Lagunillas, which is in Bolivia, and not San Pedro Lagunillas which is in Mexico - this appears to be/have been an "oil camp": see http://www.randytrahan.com/ocov/lagunillas.htm

-- The Anome 08:29, 30 August 2006 (UTC)

Departamento Vargas was the name of the state of Vargas before became a state. Like when Alaska or Hawai were Territorries, but not states

[edit] Project directory

Hello. The WikiProject Council has recently updated the Wikipedia:WikiProject Council/Directory. This new directory includes a variety of categories and subcategories which will, with luck, potentially draw new members to the projects who are interested in those specific subjects. Please review the directory and make any changes to the entries for your project that you see fit. There is also a directory of portals, at User:B2T2/Portal, listing all the existing portals. Feel free to add any of them to the portals or comments section of your entries in the directory. The three columns regarding assessment, peer review, and collaboration are included in the directory for both the use of the projects themselves and for that of others. Having such departments will allow a project to more quickly and easily identify its most important articles and its articles in greatest need of improvement. If you have not already done so, please consider whether your project would benefit from having departments which deal in these matters. It is my hope that all the changes to the directory can be finished by the first of next month. Please feel free to make any changes you see fit to the entries for your project before then. If you should have any questions regarding this matter, please do not hesitate to contact me. Thank you. B2T2 16:09, 25 October 2006 (UTC)

[edit] Template

I have created a template called WP_Venezuela so that users can see articles that belong to the project (which should be all Venezuela-related entries). It looks like this:

Wikipedia:WikiProject Venezuela is part of WikiProject Venezuela, which aims to improve Wikipedia's coverage of Venezuela and Venezuela-related topics. If you would like to participate, visit the project page, where you can join the project and/or contribute to the discussion.

I already put it in the talk pages of around 10 articles, but I would appreciate it if someone could help to put it everywhere else. Suggestions are welcomed of course.--enano (Talk) 23:46, 14 November 2006 (UTC)
