[edit] Another task
There's a task that's been on my talk page for a while to move a few images related to cog railways from the German Wiki to Commons or here as appropriate. I haven't had a chance to look fully into the licensing issues, but I've seen mention in other commons pages of an automated process called (I think) CommonsPusher or something like that. The specific images requested are:
- de:Bild:Zahnradbahn riggenbach.jpg
- de:Bild:Zahnradbahn strub.jpg
- de:Bild:Zahnradbahn abt.jpg
- de:Bild:Zahnradbahn locher.jpg
- de:Bild:Wengernalpbahn Zahnradbahnweiche Lauterbrunn 800px.jpg

[edit] Shameless plug for own images
I'm reposting this here, since it's more appropriate: I just wanted to put a link here to my collection of railroad-related photos: http://lensovet.rrpicturearchives.net; please look through the photos there and let me know which ones you would like me to upload. I will then upload the photos to the Commons using my license. Also, there might be some photos on http://lensovet.byethost12.com/photos/gallery2/; if there are any photos you would like to see on wiki that are there, let me know as well.
Thanks! —lensovet–talk – 17:33, 9 November 2006 (UTC)
- Thanks for mentioning it here too. I saw your note on Talk:TWP, but didn't have a chance to check out the galleries yet (I've also got a gallery there). Slambo (Speak) 18:11, 9 November 2006 (UTC)
- Lensovet, would you consider releasing your images under a free license? "Creative Commons Attribution-NonCommercial-ShareAlike 2.5" is not acceptable in commons nor in Wikipedia. I would suggest " Creative Commons Attribution-ShareAlike 2.5 License.". Best regards, --Abu Badali 13:45, 14 November 2006 (UTC)
- Abu, tell me which images you want specifically and I will upload them onto the Commons using my account and my own license, {{template:lensovet}}. —The preceding unsigned comment was added by Lensovet (talk • contribs) 17:29, 14 November 2006 (UTC)

[edit] California Zephyr
Image:Z-6354.jpg—a very cool vintage picture of the CZ in the Grand Valley—does not yet have a detailed fair use rationale, and a couple of people, including me, have challenged it under FUC#1 (replaceability). Can you help at Image talk:Z-6354.jpg? --Hroðulf (or Hrothulf) (Talk) 10:39, 15 November 2006 (UTC)
[edit] Train icons, longest route for each country
I've created a List of Amtrak routes on the Portuguese-language wiki, and for each route I've listed basic information such as length, travel time and average speed, schedule, stops, and comments. In order not to repeat the terms "Mean velocity" and such, which would make the text look dull, I've devised icons for each of those items (I couldn't find any suitable icons already made.) You may look at the page to see how I've used the icons, or you may check the whole category in Commons:Category:Simple icons. If there are any other such very simple icons you want, feel free to provide some ideas.
If you look at the bottom of the page you'll see I've provided a "Top Ten longest routes," and this felt great! I now would like to create lists of train routes for, well, all of the world's countries, and then create a list of the longest route by country. Can anyone offer my some assistance as to where I can find this information?
Thanks in advance – Tintazul msg 08:59, 23 November 2006 (UTC)
[edit] St Pancras Thameslink
I've just added a picture of KXC to the article - I'm afraid that the only graphics of STP Thameslink that are available are owned by LCR and therefore would not be suitable for submission to Wikipedia. I tried uploading an image a few months ago and it was immediately marked for speedy deletion. Edvid 18:14, 2 December 2006 (UTC)
[edit] Image for HSR-350x
HSR-350x is a recent Korean High-speed rail, developped by KRRI. I'm working on this article called Korean G-7, which talks about HSR 350x. It is going great. Nevertheless, I need help uploading image for HSR-350x as soon as possible. --User: Jamesshin92 23:23, 3 December 2006 (UTC)
Thankyou for any considerations...--Jamesshin92 01:10, 4 December 2006 (UTC)
