I just read a book in Morrowind, it was "2920 Sun's Dawn" and states that for ones year in their life, Dreugh undergo a proccess called "Karvanasim" or something similar, it's hard to read sometimes. During this, they can travel on land, which explains the land Dreughs. After this, they go through something called "meff" in which they consume the organs needed for living on land and vomit them out in a ball, called Grom.
