[edit] Main Project page talk

  • /Main Project - Main Project page only discussions (only use the page talk for page related discussion)

I have moved the project wide discussion to its new home at Wikipedia:WikiProject_Novels/GeneralForum. That is the new home for Project wide conversation.

Here should be kept for smaller issue relating to the conduct of this page, as it is so central the borders of what should go here of there might be unclear.

Just think - "is it about this page?" (talk here) or - "is it about Project strategy, policy, planning, novels, characters etc?" (talk in the /GeneralForum.

[edit] Page Talk here

Does this project have a template for talk pages where one can rate class, importance, and genre? 24.126.199.129 10:50, 27 August 2006 (UTC)

Yes, the link to the relevant page is in the Novels index box, i.e. Assessment. feydey 12:03, 28 August 2006 (UTC)

[edit] Seperate Membership page

Does anyone object if a make two changes on the way Membership is listed.

  • Firstly, Move the membership list from the main page to a subpage, referenced from the mainpage and in the navigation template. (as WPMILHIST)
  • Also can we list as "inactive" and "active" based on whether a user has contributed anything to wikipedia in the last 6 months. :: Kevinalewis : (Talk Page)/(Desk) 13:55, 4 September 2006 (UTC)
I have no objections. In fact they seem very good ideas. Silverthorn 14:42, 4 September 2006 (UTC)
Perhaps move the list to the subpage and transclude them to the main page with the show command, like:
<div class="NavFrame" style="border-style: none; padding: 0px; ">
 <div class="NavFrame" style="border-style: none; padding: 0px; ">
 <div class="NavFrame" style="border-style: none; padding: 0px; ">
 <div class="NavFrame" style="clear: both; margin-bottom: 1em; ">
 <div class="NavHead">Members (currently links to Outreach)</div>
 <div class="NavContent" style="text-align: left;">
 {{Wikipedia:WikiProject_Novels/Outreach}}/div>
 </div></div></div></div>
This reduces the length of the page. feydey 19:18, 4 September 2006 (UTC)
Or with:
{{hidden|bg1=lightgrey|Members|2={{Wikipedia:WikiProject_Novels/Outreach}}}}
with less code. feydey 11:27, 5 September 2006 (UTC)

Used the second one - thanks for the assistance. :: Kevinalewis : (Talk Page)/(Desk) 16:15, 5 September 2006 (UTC)
