[edit] How do I join?
I would like to join, I have done a lot of Disney attraction articles, how do I sign up? --Randomgbear 04:52, 14 March 2006 (UTC)
You can sign up on the project page under Cast Members, and start doing some of the tasks on the To Do list. Thanks for helping! --Cast Member 55
- Signed up myself, and noticed that the attractions template list is not updated. I'll start by working on that --DisneyFreak96 04:53, 15 June 2006 (UTC)
- It seems the sites have the templates but have not been added to the template list. I will be working on that --DisneyFreak96 06:46, 21 June 2006 (UTC)
- Signed myself up, look forward to helping in anyway I can! --Andysund 07:06, 11 November 2006 (UTC)
[edit] Finding Nemo
During a January trip to Disneyland, I took some pictures of the construction for the new Finidng Nemo attraction. I don't know enough about the attraction itself to start an article on it, but I'd be happy to provide the pics in case there is an article started in the future. Lbbzman 17:30, 20 April 2006 (UTC)
- There is currently an article for Finding Nemo Submarine Voyage as well as one for the original Submarine Voyage, and if you have the pictures, feel free to use them! --Lyght 20:36, 20 April 2006 (UTC)

- Thanks! I don't know how I missed that existing article! Lbbzman 20:45, 20 April 2006 (UTC)
[edit] Disneyland attractions template
I have a problem with the long, looong Disneyland attractions bar that litters every single article about an attraction that appears in three or more parks. It seems completely unnecessary and unfair to the other parks that share an article with the ride at DL. And to put in one of those bars for all the listed parks is not an option--there is no room. Tomsintown
- I agree. I added one into Pirates of the Caribbean, and now wish I hadn't. Other templates of this sort throughout Wikipedia have infobox's designed to fit at the bottom of the article. This doesn't interfere with the text or other images in the article, and allows people to stack different infoboxes - such as a Disneyland infobox and a Walt Disney World infobox.. Scroll to the bottom of the Star Wars article for an example of two wide infoboxes stacked on top of each other. Disneyfile 23:11, 4 October 2006 (UTC)
-
- I thought that long infobox was kind of pointless as well. It looks fine, but it takes up the entire right side of the article, and usually goes far past the Disneyland part of the article. Template:disneyrides works better but even that is a little ridiculous, especially if there is a link to current attractions in the see also section. --blm07 23:53, 4 October 2006 (UTC)

- Well, how about this template I just whipped up: Template:Disneyland2? I've put it in at the bottom of the Haunted Mansion article. Disneyfile 00:49, 5 October 2006 (UTC)

- It does look better than the first one, but I wonder if it should be at the end of the Disneyland section of the article. Personally, I think a link to the current attractions is enough, but I guess we'll see what others have to say. --blm07 20:29, 13 October 2006 (UTC)

[edit] Count me in!
Not only am I a premium annual passholder, I'm also an administrator at disney.wikia.com. Anyone who wants to participate over there is more than welcome. In fact, I was working on bringing the Disneyland Railroad article to featured status before I left. It's almost done and I'll be adding pictures. Might even add spoken narration to this. Anyone for collaborating on this and bringing it up to snuff? - Lucky 6.9 03:48, 12 September 2006 (UTC)
- Me too! I've been visiting Disneyland almost since it first opened. I also worked for The Walt Disney Company for four years and have been "behind the scenes" at Disneyland and Imagineering. Disneyfile 22:45, 4 October 2006 (UTC)
[edit] Brand new infobox
Since I was never happy with the super duper simple templates (Template:Disney show & Template:Disney ride) I've been tinkering with a brand spanking new infobox template for the past couple of hours.
Check out Template:Disney attraction infobox, it can be used for Disney shows and rides and it looks real nice, nice as the infobox you guys have been using. To see it in action check out Main Street Electrical Parade. It even includes a place for the four New York World's Fair attractions and sponsors for each resort used. --blm07 02:28, 5 October 2006 (UTC)
- Very nice! For future enhancements, I'd like to see the size of the images standardized and linked to the appropriate theme park articles. The title banners need to span the entire infobox, and the text column needs to be wiened. Disneyfile 03:18, 5 October 2006 (UTC)
-
- Ok, I think this will be the last edit for a while. First off, images were removed because of policy, so I made it all text only. Sponsors were also removed since it is kind of pointless to include them in a infobox. I have modified the infobox so much that I've created a new template here Template:Infobox Disney attraction, this also goes within the guidelines of "Infobox" before the template name. Check this page to see the new one in action. I think it is looking even nicer than before, so let me know what you all think. --blm07 18:57, 5 October 2006 (UTC) Also see Template talk:Infobox Disney attraction#Poll
Alright, I'm sure just about everyone by now knows that I've heavily modified the infobox since that last post, and I'm going to put the new setup into effect soon if nobody opposes, and I'll edit all the articles with my old template to the new one. See Template:Disney attraction infobox for the new setup, this should be the final change and anything more should be tweaks. One other thing: I won't change the infoboxes that you guys have put on articles unless you give me the ok. --blm07 20:48, 28 November 2006 (UTC)
[edit] Project Directory
Hello. The WikiProject Council is currently in the process of developing a master directory of the existing WikiProjects to replace and update the existing Wikipedia:WikiProject Council/Directory. These WikiProjects are of vital importance in helping wikipedia achieve its goal of becoming truly encyclopedic. Please review the following pages:
- User:Badbilltucker/Culture Directory,
- User:Badbilltucker/Culture Directory 2,
- User:Badbilltucker/Philosophy and religion Directory,
- User:Badbilltucker/Sports Directory,
- User:Badbilltucker/Geographical Directory,
- User:Badbilltucker/Geographical Directory/United States, (note: This page will be retitled to more accurately reflect its contents)
- User:Badbilltucker/History and society directory, and
- User:Badbilltucker/Science directory
and make any changes to the entries for your project that you see fit. There is also a directory of portals, at User:B2T2/Portal, listing all the existing portals. Feel free to add any of them to the portals or comments section of your entries in the directory. The three columns regarding assessment, peer review, and collaboration are included in the directory for both the use of the projects themselves and for that of others. Having such departments will allow a project to more quickly and easily identify its most important articles and its articles in greatest need of improvement. If you have not already done so, please consider whether your project would benefit from having departments which deal in these matters. It is my hope to have the existing directory replaced by the updated and corrected version of the directory above by November 1. Please feel free to make any changes you see fit to the entries for your project before then. If you should have any questions regarding this matter, please do not hesitate to contact me. Thank you. B2T2 21:00, 23 October 2006 (UTC)
- Sorry if you tried to update it before, and the corrections were gone. I have now put the new draft in the old directory pages, so the links should work better. My apologies for any confusion this may have caused you. B2T2 23:44, 23 October 2006 (UTC)
