Nice work, Taku! Do you think you could work in a section for the relative rarity of characters for each language? That would be very helpful for learners.
[edit] some suggestions
- For each character, show most common glyphs in use in China, Japan, Korea, Taiwan
- Show variant glyphs
- Show traditional index radical, plus index radicals from alternative systems
- Show Morohashi number, Nelson number, position in Joyo Kanji (if applicable), etc.
- Show a few words containing the character with English translation. Could be helpful to illuminate differences in usage between Chinese and Japanese for the same kanji compounds (eg 手紙、無料)

[edit] Monochrome?
The suggested template shows a placeholder for a monochrome 64x64px image of the character. Why not use a grayscale image?
See this example; left is properly anti-aliased grayscale, right is monochrome. JeroenHoek 20:46, 20 Jun 2005 (UTC)
[edit] updated "meaning" table
I made some edits to the "meaning" table that will, I hope, make it a little clearer and simpler. adamrice 13:37, 21 Jun 2005 (UTC)
