[edit] Branch articles
I'm not convinced that an article for every BSAC branch is a worthwhile exercise. Although I've been an enthusiastic member of a BSAC branch for 16 years, I think they are uninteresting to outsiders and most articles will simply be advertisements - little real content, unbalanced and dull - something the wikipedia is trying hard to avoid. Also I think the BSAC web site might be the better place for a simple list of all BSAC branches. Or maybe the BSAC wiki is a better container for this very specific type of information?
If the project's aim was improving encyclopaedic articles about BSAC and valuable things like amateur diving instruction and the dive club ethos, that would be worthwhile. Mark.murphy 18:45, 6 July 2006 (UTC)
- I agree that an article for every branch is not in accordance with wikipedia rules. I am an enthusiastic branch member, but my local branch is in effect just a local sports club - it does not meet the wikipedia criteria for significance. I think if such articles are created, many will be candidates for speedy deletion Viv Hamilton 22:37, 12 July 2006 (UTC)
[edit] Title
I have moved the main article to British Sub-Aqua Club to include the title that it should have both gramatically and according to usage on the official website. If any other articles exist without they hyphen they should be moved also. Thryduulf 21:41, 2 October 2006 (UTC)
