[edit] AfD re Auto Parts Place

When the AfD was started, the Auto Parts Place article wasn't on the WikiProject list, so the proposed deletion wouldn't have come to the attention of the project's members. Those of you knowledgeable about our automotive coverage might want to go to Wikipedia:Articles for deletion/Auto Parts Place to weigh in for or against deletion. Against? For maybe. You should probably have posted this on Wikipedia_talk:WikiProject_Automobiles, SteveBaker 13:24, 30 November 2006 (UTC)

The result was 'delete dated 20:16, 2 December 2006 (UTC). Sandstein did not extend the AfD as requested by JamesMLane and gave the following reason- "because the problem is finding sources for WP:CORP-level coverage". No further time was given for the author of the article to provide sources; probably for the reason that if ever the said needed sources were found, reposting of the questionable article can be done.

The admin also pointed that no technical knowledge is needed in finding resource for any article posted in Wikipedia. This quickly removes any chance for this article's survival given that it is:

1. An online entity, meaning that it is but normal that details for and about this company are found in the web. Thus the finding of these data require some form of technical knowledge.

2. Not a company that depends on paid advertising for its promotion and marketing. This means that any information that is printed or posted about the company needs atleast some method of research before discovery.

Still, it is noted that, popularity in the internet amongst its users is not a measure of notability even if it is provided by reputable search engines. Auto Parts Place is currently listed as number 7 in Google, number 2 in yahoo, and number 6 in MSN for the category or keyword auto parts- an unmanipulated result dictated by internet user preference and choice.--Auto Parts for Brains 09:16, 8 December 2006 (UTC)

If more discussion needs to take place on this, it really should happen at Wikipedia talk:WikiProject Automobiles, not here. --Interiot 09:54, 8 December 2006 (UTC)
