Well, OK. I suppose it would be gratifying to be recognized, though I think my extreme introversion leads me to find recognition of any kind, good or bad, to be a little uncomfortable. I rather enjoy working with a fair degree of obscurity. I'm honestly not sure I'm deserving of a halo either. While I mostly try to avoid controversial topics, I'm also quite sure there are many times I've been unnecessarily blunt or less diplomatic than I could have been--and there are many dubious little edits I see that I just can't bring myself to care about improving--and many actions (like at WP:AN and WP:RfC and WP:RFAR) that are important, but are just too contentious and too vexacious to the spirit for me to get involved with. It's strange to realize that I've been contributing for just over two years now -- it seems like much longer. Anyhow, I don't want to ramble on too much longer here. While there have been points where I've become exasperated at the prospects for Wikipedia's ongoing success, I nevertheless still find it immensely exciting to be a part of such a great project as this. older ≠ wiser 03:24, 13 March 2006 (UTC)
