These are the rules of traveling on the London Underground. Please stick to them because it may cause delays if you don't, which will result in longer journey times.

  • Keep all your belongings with you at all times and report any unattended items to staff or police if no one claims them.
  • If you need to raise the alarm on a train, please don't press the emergency button between stations unless absolutely necessary, press it at the next station, where help can be more quickly given.
  • Stand clear of the closing doors - obstructing them slows down departure and causes delays.
  • Stand on the right on escalators, so that people in a rush can walk on the left.
  • Let passengers off the train first before you get on, as this speeds up your journey.
  • Please give up your seat to anyone who might need it more than you.
  • When sitting, please don't spread your legs, as this may be uncomfortable to passengers either side of you.
  • Do not use flash, tripods or simular contraptions while photographing on the underground.
