The arcticle is about a fictional species. See also mud crab disambiguation.

Mudcrabs are coast dwelling enemies in the games The Elder Scrolls III: Morrowind and The Elder Scrolls IV: Oblivion. They are brown, dome-shaped crabs, (or in oblivion they look like normal crabs) that are very aggressive, however they are considered to be amongst the easiest of foes to defeat. Mudcrabs can however be in possession of Swamp Fever, a common disease, which is dangerous if left untreated. Mudcrabs are slow moving and can be identified from afar in addition to having a relatively weak attack and low hit points. They are thus perfect targets for beginners, especially those who wish to improve their long range skills such as marksmanship or ranged spellcasting. Mudcrabs can swim in pursuit of characters who are weakened or who have decided that it is too much of a bother to kill them, but their speed in water is quite low, so this ability has limited use.

Crab meat can be found on dead mudcrabs and may be used in potions to restore fatigue. Mudcrabs are common and can be found along virtually all coasts, and their meat is a staple of cuisine across Tamriel - especially in Morrowind. Due to this, crabmeat can often be bought from alchemists and apothecaries, and is found in some houses and other buildings as a meal or in storage.

In Morrowind, there is a talking mudcrab near the Mznach Ruin along Azura's Coast. It is on one of many small islands in the area and will buy weapons, armor, etc. at full market value, providing incentive to those wishing to obtain a good price for their wares. As for items for sale, the mudcrab specializes in skooma, a drug that can ocasionally be found scattered across Morrowind.

In Oblivion, a giant mudcrab can be found in Greenmead Cave, which is east of Skingrad. Although intimidating at first glance, its stats are quite similar to that of an average mudcrab.
