Please come over to the RfC here. There's been a persistent vanity-editor adding content to the article. (I'll delete this when it's resolved.) Auto movil 21:58, 19 October 2006 (UTC)

[edit] Punk house

  • I have an article in the Deletion Review section about Theta Beta Potata, its linked to punk house right now and it looks like the decision reached at the Deletion Review might effect both those articles. I'd appreciate any other opinions in the matter. Some users, it seems, are even questioning the notability of a punk house article. I do think that as the WikiProject Punk music group we should support the article on punk houses, at the very least, and then recommend some kind of criteria for separate articles about specific punk houses. Another option which was mentioned would be to have a paragraph about specific notable punk houses on the punk house article and not have separate pages for them. I'll repost this on the front page of the WikiProject PM. Thanx. Here's the link to the TBP Deletion Review Discussion. Scroll down to post, there are around 10 responses so far. • I put the WikiProject Punk music banner on the Punk house article. I think this article is strongly related to Punk music. Xsxex 14:57, 24 August 2006 (UTC)

  • Bad Religion, blink-182, My Chemical Romance, The Offspring and The Ramones could use some song samples.
  • Pop punk/Punk pop need sources and to have POV monitored.
    • How does the article look now? There have been some significant changes over the past month and a half. I'm not saying it should its at featured status yet, but i think improvements have been made. Any thoughts, ideas? You can address specific sections on the talk page for the article. • Punk ideology needs to be approached from a totally different perspective to how it is now. At the moment it is just a list of various political stances on a wide variety of subjects. This is why the page is so riven with arguments. It needs to be approached from a sociological/subculturalstance which properly takes into account the differences of punk ideology and why there are differences rather than just attaching any ideology that a punk band might once have wrote s song about. artoftheusername 21/04/06
    • Although there are some problems, I do think that as a general overview of most punk's views this page is fairly accurate (although it does need major cleanup). This discussion should probably move to the talk page though. The Ungovernable Force 05:25, 22 April 2006 (UTC)
      • Punk has too often been covered in a purely subcultural direction (e.g. by punks for punks) or by non-punk academic third parties that entirely miss the aspects of identity, community, and philosophy that bind punk and punks together. The ideology section needs to be entirely changed and approached in a sociological, philosophical, and political way. Not just listing punks' beliefs or looking at punk as an animal in a zoo. Y.Pestis
        • I agree with all three comments thus far. I'm interested in being part of the discussion. I do agree, as Artoftheusername stated, that the article should be broader and more focused on the root of punk ideology. its gonna be a touchy one. ok. Xsxex 14:26, 28 August 2006 (UTC)
  • Joy Division should probably have the history section rearranged in order to flow better. Song samples would also be useful.
  • List of musical punk genres should probably be renamed, possibly to "List of punk rock genres"
    • Both doesn't exist! Ido50 00:02, 21 August 2006 (UTC)
  • Resolve genre debates going on at Green Day
  • Wire (band) really needs to include history of the band before 1979, in addition to being cleaned up.
  • The Lookouts - Expand the article and add sources.
  • Punk subculture suffers from a disgusting lack of references. Ecto 12:47, 9 December 2006 (UTC)
  • Discuss proposed changes to the project at the project's discussion page.
