[edit] Personal Interests

I'm adding this section. I feel with the scope of this project it would be a good idea if others were to know which way we lean and where each other is strongest for peer reviews, corroberation and the like. Say whatever you want, interests, experience, collections, goals, acheivements. Joe I 19:58, 14 October 2005 (UTC)

Hi, I'm Joe I. I'm newly converted into numismatics after a life of wishing I could. Now I know I can. My interests lie in US historicals(for the beauty and historical values), and current high end bullions from various countries. I prefer to deal in paper currency, although confederate doesn't interest me (I'm a southern boy). I have been enamored with 1860's-1940's coins as of late. Seated liberty, Morgan, and Peace designs are gorgous. Johann Wolfgang has actually piqued my interest in ancients, which I'm starting to look at, and the Euro has been calling to me for years. Well, maybe to much, I dunno. Anyways, I'll be around for awhile, and I need lots of help with wikitext as I have no experience with html or such. Feel free to drop a line or ask a question. Joe I 19:58, 14 October 2005 (UTC)
I'm glad to see that this WikiProject has returned. I collect U.S. and Confederate coins and currency. --TantalumTelluride 20:16, 22 October 2005 (UTC)
I am a hobbyist, coin collector who specializes in 20th Century US Coins and also US Type Coins. I am new to this Wikipedia thing but see a lot of improvement that could be done to the US side of the various Numismatics articles. I am a decent writer but a pretty good researcher and will see if I can work in this environment. As someone who has created some internet coin information on my own websites and various forums over the years, I am not used to editors, especially not a multitude of them. ;) My library is extensive and I have a good pulse on the US side of the hobby as it currently is from both a collector and investor standpoint. --Qwertypoiuy
I am a collector of circulated world coins. I have no time for the hobby now, and probably not much time to work on wikipedia either. I'm new around here, and think it's amazing how much information is already here. I've found lots of stuff already that I would've loved to have access to a couple of years ago when I was actively collecting. If someone else did some organizing/planning, I could probably find some time to pull some of the stuff that's already out there into the new structure. --mom2jandk
I am a British Commonwealth specialist collector. If you want to know what I collect, please take a look at my profile. - (Aidan Work 01:30, 11 November 2005 (UTC))
Count me in. I don't have a coin collection, but I'm very interested in getting started, and I am a bold Wikipedia editor :). Markkawika 09:52, 22 November 2005 (UTC)
I'm a collector of world coins, post Matthew Boulton. I have a particular interest in numismatic history and have started expanding Wikipedia's articles on historical currencies, since Wikipedia is increasingly the first hit thrown up by search engines. I'm new to Wikipedia, so all advice is welcome. Dove1950
Might as well write something down here: I'm not a collector per se, though I do collect the €2 commemorative coin issues (working on an article about them which will hopefully be way better than the piecemail distribution over the different country articles). I'm mostly interested in currencies, especially currency changes, currency unions, and so on. ナイトスタリオン 14:18, 23 November 2005 (UTC)
I'm a modest belgium collector of world coins. I've already made some works on the french Wikipédia to improve items on euro coins (standard coins, 2 EUR commemorative coins, collection coins), other europeans coins (Belgium, Netherlands, Luxembourg, Germany, Norway, etc), medieval coins (Louis, Deniers, etc). I would like to have 24 hour a day to improve items. As it is not possible, I can find a few hours per month --Flafla89 09:25, 26 November 2005 (UTC)
Numismatist for approx. 15 of 21 years as well as an economics and history buff. Creator of the controversial One dollar Federal Reserve Note article. Hope it stays but will abide by consensus. Great to see there's a project devoted to numismatics. Paul 23:06, 5 December 2005 (UTC)
Unlike most people here, I collect banknotes. The reason I prefer banknotes over coins is because there is to much more to tell from a banknote than a coin. I'm also a computer scientist, therefore it is natural that I like to have things done in a programmatic, table style, rather than text. So I'd like to see more templates and uniform styles across currency articles.
--Chochopk 05:38, 15 December 2005 (UTC)
Well, I'm not realy intrested in coins as much as currencies, like Nightstallion (ナイトスタリオン), "especially currency changes" and stuff like that. But I'll do what ever I can to help out. Zntrip 05:00, 9 January 2006 (UTC)
My name is Kevin, I've been away for awhile and therefore haven't been able to contribute enough, I want to know how to be able to talk in the discussion section of any numismatic article. I'm already signed up, as far as I know. Please visit my talk page. Spacetimecont 21:46, 6 March 2006 (UTC)
I've been a collector for a few years now. I don't remember where I got the bug, but I have it now! I focus mainly on US coins, and I go for all types. I also have an interest in Civil War tokens. Recently I started a collection of coins from all the nations involved in WWI (coins would all have to be dated during the time the country actually fought), which has been interesting. --cholmes75 (chit chat) 02:06, 3 July 2006 (UTC)
I'm a history buff, in this case medieval economics and coins. There is a huge amount of work cleaning up histories of monetary systems. RgoNaut 17:59, 22 September 2006 (UTC)
I have collected many types of coins and currencies. My favorite are military challenge coins. They consume me. --JAYMEDINC 00:55, 8 October 2006 (UTC)
I'm interested in Roman Republican coinage and in coins of Italy. I've also some minor experience in other European Countries Carlo Morino aka zi' Carlo 09:53, 20 November 2006 (UTC)
My collecting areas include (or have included) Imperial German coins and banknotes, German colonial coins and banknotes, paper notgeld, POW and guerrilla paper money, and art medals (exonumia). Askari Mark | Talk 18:34, 2 December 2006 (UTC)
