WikiProject Nephrology

[edit] Scope

Nephrology is the branch of medicine that deals with diseases of the kidney.

This WikiProject aims to:

  • increase the quality of the current articles on nephrology topics by increasing their medical content while keeping them accessible to individuals with no specialty medical knowledge
  • facilitate the creation of new articles on topics in nephrology, so that Wikipedia is a more-or-less comprehensive nephrology resource for the public
  • ensure that articles created on nephrology topics are thoroughly referenced and include up-to-date links to the most recent literature
  • explain the use of evidence-based medicine in nephrology and how it is applied to the care of patients with renal disease
  • maintain consistency per WP:MOS on nephrology articles
  • increase the number of images attached to articles
  • produce nephrology-themed featured articles based on the above
  • include both traditional and complementary and alternative medicine therapies for illnesses nephrologists typically see and treat
  • improve the kidney bluebox {{Kidney}} and create a nephrology template that lists the most common renal diseases.
