Welcome to WikiProject Houston. We are a group dedicated to improving Wikipedia's coverage of Houston. The project was established on November 7, 2006. Editors who are interested in contributing, please sign up below and post any ideas and suggestions on the talk page. Also, feel free to edit this page and add any articles that need work or that you feel require attention below in the tasks section.

Mission

Establish Wikipedia as one of the premier online information resources on the Houston metropolitan area.

Goals

• To provide guidelines and recommendations for articles that describe all aspects of the city of Houston and the surrounding metropolitan area.
• To improve Wikipedia's coverage of Houston by creating, expanding, and maintaining such articles and related portal.
• To serve as the central point of discussion for issues related to Houston in Wikipedia.

Scope

• Geographically-related articles in the Greater Houston metropolitan area.
• Articles about persons who have had a significant presence or relationship to the city.

Parentage

The parent of this WikiProject is WikiProject Cities. At a state level, the parent of this project is WikiProject Texas.
