Wikipedia:WikiProject Georgia Tech/Collaboration Nomination
From Wikipedia, the free encyclopedia
- This page shamelessly stolen from Wikipedia:WikiProject Nintendo/Collaboration of the fortnight.
Roughly each fortnight (two weeks), Wikipedians from WikiProject Georgia Tech nominate an article to become the collaboration of the fortnight. The aim is to produce B-class or better articles, through widespread cooperative editing. Any article in WikiProject Georgia Tech articles may be nominated, but stubs and requested articles are preferred.
As we are a small project, don't expect all collaborations to last exactly one or two weeks. Some articles just need a few days of concentrated attention to excel; during the middle of a semester, it may take a month to make that same improvement.

[edit] Selection process
The collaborations are selected by approval voting. This is done by clicking the edit button to the right of the article's nomination, and adding the text # ~~~~
.
- Only registered users may vote, and their first edit must have been before the article was nominated.
- Only support votes and comments should be added, as the articles are chosen by approval voting.
- Do not vote for all of the nominations. If you do, your votes will be discounted, as people can't expect you to work on all of them.
- The article with the most votes at selection time will become the next COTW.
- Once the current COTW has expired, El Dictator will pick the next one based on the current nominations.
- Old nominations stay until they are chosen or until this page gets unwieldy.
[edit] Nominating articles
To nominate an article:
- At the top of the list of nominees on this page, enter the text
{{subst:newcotw|article name|~~~~~|date in seven days|your reason for nominating|~~~~}}
. changing the text accordingly (for example, add:{{subst:newcotw|George P. Burdell|~~~~~|[[12 July]]|Burdell's article could use some help, since he is a well-known tradition.|~~~~}}
).
[edit] Considerations
- Giving good reasons will help others in supporting your nomination.
- Articles should interest a wide number of people, so many can contribute to the article's improvement.
- If you're thinking of renominating an article which has recently failed, consider waiting a month before renominating it.
