• The completion list has been reformatted and expanded. Since the Recent Changes link in the Useful Links box uses the completion list, it will now include more articles related to the project!
 • Commons:Category:Diagrams of road signs of Maryland has been created and contains some more images. If you have any other ideas, but don't know how to make the images, contact Jeff.
 • Don't forget to read through the routebox page for the guidelines on how to use it, shield sizes seem to be a common pitfall, and the template page does mention the correct sizes to use.

[edit] Title

The Georgia State Routes WikiProject

[edit] Scope

This WikiProject aims primarily to encourage participation in creating or expanding articles about state highways in Georgia, also known as State Routes (note the capitals). This project also aims to establish standards relating to the display of information in these articles.

[edit] Routes Worthy of Articles

The following highways can have entire articles dedicated to them:

 • Routes that are constructed, traversable, state-maintained, and signed with their own route numbers.
 • Routes that are partly constructed or partly signed.
 • Deleted routes with significant information worthy of an article.
 • Interstates that run entirely in Georgia (mostly spur and loop routes). Ideally, these should also be part of this WikiProject.
 • Georgia specific Interstate articles. For example: Interstate 75 in Georgia

[edit] Structure

Articles should best start with a short description of the state route. This description should say where the route begins and ends, as well as any discontinuities. Unique details about this road may be added, but use sparingly.

[edit] Article Naming Convention

Articles are located at Georgia State Route XXX; if not, they need to be moved there.

Note: In all uses of the phrase "State Route", capitals are to be used. This includes stubs and categories and templates and lists.

[edit] Road Description

A physical description of the road should be given here. Cities and communities the road traverses should be mentioned here, as well as segments of freeway.

[edit] History

The history of this route number should be discussed here.

[edit] External Links

This is where all external links should be placed. For those relating to the route, please include the following websites. Government or official links should go first. Road enthusiasts links should follow.

External links to points of interest should also go here.

[edit] Category Structure

All articles are placed into a category: either Category:Georgia state highways, Category:U.S. Highways in Georgia, or Category:Interstate Highways in Georgia. The sort key is a three digit number representing the route number.

Examples:

 •
 •
 •
