[edit] How to

See PPCHTeX, XyMTeX. Please do not include drug names in images.

I would suggest to create chemical molecules only by experienced users / chemists with real molecule editors like IsisDraw or ChemDraw. Please include stereoinformation. For a series of derivatives the core structure should have the same orientation. The molecule orientation should follow the traditions in a certain field (e.g. indoles are usually oriented with the N at the bottom and the benzene ring to the left). A way to prevent pixelized images is to increase the image size to 300%, save as an image file, and sample the size down (Photoshop, IrfanView) using bicubic interpolation. That way you get images like Strychnine to the right (original size). Cacycle 11:33, 4 Nov 2004 (UTC)

I've had luck using WinPLT, available here. It didn't take long to learn how to use, and it is available as free shareware. It was created for academic use by a professor of organic and organometallic chemistry at the University of Wisconsin. Fuzzform 22:09, 20 February 2006 (UTC)
