Wikipedia:WikiProject Cryptids

I think that while Wikipedia has some excellent information on cryptids and UMAs, it could be better organized and presented in a concise, clear, organized format that shares templates between articles on various cryptids. The chart on the list of cryptids is an interesting way to go, but i think it would be more efficient to return to the list format of the page, and instead include some of the information previously on the chart inside the actual article. Cryptids could be organized by name, type, and/or region.

I think each page should be organized with a short description or summary of the creature, a picture, an infobox (the template is below), and then a full article with information on traits, sightings, and interesting facts.

If someone could complete an infobox for use on cryptid pages with the following information, it would help this project immensely. I should include:

• The best and clearest (but not necessarily most famous) picture of the creature. If no picture is available, simply don't include anything in this space.
• Alternate names for the creature.
• The areas where the creature has been sighted, as specifically as possible.
• Whether or not the creature is believed to be hostile towards humans or domestic animals.
• The approximate height (or length for quadrupeds and sea creatures) and weight of the creature.
• The creature's diet, if known.
• The type of creature (use the types such as primate, etc. already present on the cryptids page. Perhaps these terms could be revised?)

Any boxes for which information is not available should just read 'unknown'.

If anyone has any ideas for contributing to this project outline or ways to make the project more efficient, please do so. I feel this project could be better organized by someone with more experience.
