Wikipedia:WikiProject Contract bridge/Naming conventions
From Wikipedia, the free encyclopedia
Wikiproject Contract bridge has established the following naming conventions for bridge-related articles:
Articles on conventions should be named with the name of the convention if that is possible. For example, "Michaels cuebid" or "Brozel". If the name is already in use for another article, the convention article should be named with the name of the convention plus the word "convention", with no parentheses, such as "Drury convention".
Articles on bridge terms should similarly be named with the term itself if possible; for example, "Hand evaluation" or "Beer card". If the name is already in use, the bridge article should be named with the name of the term plus the word "(bridge)" in parentheses, such as "Sacrifice (bridge)". In keeping with general Wikipedia style, the name should be in the singular in most cases.
According to the general Wikipedia rule, the titles should normally be written in lowercase (except for the first word) (Unusual notrump, Jacoby transfer), unless it's a proper noun, such as "Last Train" or "Blue Team club".
