[edit] Structure
For the latest on the structure of an article about an artist, see Wikipedia:Featured Music Project (and this).
Most articles about CCM artists have poor structure. As of now, most of the pages have hardly any info about the artist's personal life. If it does, it is simply mixed along with all the other information.
The proposed structure guideline is the following:
CCM artist is ... (preferably per WP:LEAD) ==Musical career== Some info about how he or she started, major relevent events, and general artist bio, related to the music (personal bio is included below). If there is enough information, sub-headings should be considered: ===Early years=== This is an OPTIONAL section. If there is not enough info to make a section, it should be included under ==Musical career==. ===Music=== The style of music, important albums, etc should be expressed here. This is also OPTIONAL with the same condition as above. ===Influences=== The effect the subject has had on the music industry (specifically CCM or as a whole), other music styles, popular culture, or other noteworthy contributions. ==Personal life== Here you should write info about the artists' personal life. For bands of more than one person, keep this section limited or nonexistant, keeping details on the respective band member's article. ==References== <references/> <!-- References and notes belong here. --> ==See also== *Article A *Band B *Music genre C ==External links== *Official site *Site to artist's record label. <!-- Put more categories here. -->

[edit] Adopt an article
Similar to the Collaboration of the week, but on a smaller scale, you might want to "adopt" an article. This would involve doing the research, writing, and picture-taking (if possible) for either a non-existent article or a stub. Of course, everyone else can still edit an adopted article, and you can work on other things too, but the idea is to find a focus for a while, to try and build up the number of quality articles the Project has produced.
- Example article: We don't have an example article yet.

[edit] Discussion Page Template
I have made a template that should go on every disussion page(of articles) related to CCM. Please put on the discussion pages. You can find the template at Template:WikiProject Contemporary Christian Music. A picture still needs to be added. It is important to add these so articles can be connected with the project and new members can be recruited to help. Casey14 00:28, 2 September 2006 (UTC)
- What is an appropriate image for the WikiProject that would be acceptable to all Christians? A picture of a cross? Crucifixion? Jesus carrying the cross? Would it be sacreligious/offensive to include musical notes on any of these? Royalbroil 04:06, 15 September 2006 (UTC)
- I think perhaps we need someone to make a picture from scratch. The idea of using a cross sounds good, too, though. I'm willing to work on an image if the need arises, of course. Hannah 17:43, 23 September 2006 (UTC)
