Wikipedia:WikiProject Ceramists
From Wikipedia, the free encyclopedia
Welcome to the Notable Ceramists Project Page, being complied by students of the senior Ceramics studios at the Nova Scotia College of Art and Design University (NSCAD University). Of course, everyone is welcome to contribute, particularly if you work/study/have expertise in Ceramics!
This project aims to create Wikipedia entries for significant artists working in Ceramics. A preliminary list has been compiled below. If the link is coloured red, then no page exists for the artist. Some artists have the notation (stub) next to their name: a page exists, but needs fleshing out.
Project Coordinator: Pierre Billon
[edit] Getting Started
Here are some pages that you might find helpful:
- The five pillars of Wikipedia
- How to edit a page
- Help pages
- Tutorial
- How to write a great article
- Manual of Style
And specifically for this project:
If you contribute to the talk pages, please sign your name using four tildes (~~~~); this will automatically produce your name and the date.
If you need help, check out Wikipedia:Questions, ask me on my talk page, or place helpme
on your talk page and someone will show up shortly to answer your questions. (If you are a NSCAD Ceramics student, please just drop by in person and see me for help.)
[edit] Categorization
I suggest assigning the pages you create to a category, such as:
- Ceramists
- The broadest category (place at the end of your page)
- Potter
- General category for ceramists who primarily create functional ware (use Potters)
- American Potter
- Country-specific category for potters (use )
- British Potters
- (use )
- Canadian Potters
- (use )
- Japanese Potters
- (use )
I'm not convinced that having geographic sub-categories is useful, but the ones above already existed. I'd just just the Ceremists category.
