This Wikiproject aims to describe a template for new articles about boxing, and to unify currently existing articles.

[edit] Goals:

• To standardize the boxing articles in Wikipedia.
• To improve Wikipedia coverage of boxing by adding, expanding and improving boxing articles.
• To serve as a central point of discussion for issues related to Wikipedia boxing articles.
• Establish List of current world boxing champions as a featured list.
• Place all eligible boxers in Category:World boxing champions.
• Complete List of lightweight boxing champions.
• Complete List of male boxers.
• Complete List of WBA world champions.
• Complete List of WBC world champions.
• Complete Boxing in the 1990s, and Boxing in the 2000s
• Find ways to link to orphans and near-orphans (e.g. Puerto Rican-Mexican boxing rivalry, club fighter).
• Nearly every boxing article needs citation.

• Established Floyd Mayweather Jr. as a good article on 27 May 2006.
• Featured picture of Ricardo Domínguez (left) versus Rafael Ortíz was on the wikipeida main page on June 21, 2006. Wikipedia:POTD row/June 21, 2006
• Established the List of current world boxing champions as a featured list.
