WikIran
From Wikipedia, the free encyclopedia
WikIran (Persian: vikIran) is a Web-based collaborative project to develop a free English-language encyclopedia, running the MediaWiki software. Unlike other wiki projects such as Wikipedia, wikIran limits its focus to a specific specialization, concentrating primarily on Iranian history, civilization, and peoples. It's foundation was inspired by both the Encyclopædia Iranica, a proprietary reference to which wikIran aims to provide a free alternative to, and Wikipedia.[1]
