[edit] Re: Edit Summary

It probably was a newbie test, but from my quick glance of what he changed, it looked like intentional vandalism. Robomaeyhem 02:39, 24 June 2006 (UTC)

Just a question... do you think people really want to know your old identity? It took me all of two seconds to find out who you used to be. But don't worry, I won't tell. ;-) See ya around, buddy. --LV (Dark Mark) 01:57, 30 June 2006 (UTC)
I guess people don't like a mystery. ;-) I have my ways of finding things out. ;-) Don't you know I am the most powerful wizard to ever live? You should have an email in a minute. See ya. --LV (Dark Mark) 15:22, 30 June 2006 (UTC)
Okay, nevermind... you don't have email enabled. I was gonna give away my secret. --LV (Dark Mark) 15:24, 30 June 2006 (UTC)

[edit] Quickform & Fairwaylife

Thanks for contacting me. I know that I can't "officially" end an AfD by withdrawing a nom after votes have been cast--but I've never seen a delete vote go through in which the nominator wasn't still on board. :) In any case, your edits to these articles have definitely addressed much of the POV issues. I still don't think they meet WP:NOTABILITY, but that's what AfD is for... Anyways, I appreciate your efforts. I've contacted the article creator about the notability guidelines, so hopefully those problems can be addressed. -- Scientizzle 22:38, 30 June 2006 (UTC)

  • Thanks for letting me know I did not sign my comment on the AfD. Honest mistake but I still stand by my comment: the links you provided are at best yellow pages and do not indicate that the service has notability as per WP:CORP or WP:WEB. In the future, you can use template:unsigned when needed. Pascal.Tesson 13:30, 1 July 2006 (UTC)
  • While it is very much your right to disregard the notability guidelines, be aware that some of these guidelines have been adopted by the Wiki community and, as such, they cannot be completely ignored since most people on the AfD debates consider them as a valuable rule of thumb. (but I guess you've noticed that already! :-) ) Pascal.Tesson 15:10, 1 July 2006 (UTC)

[edit] Image copyright tag

Hey Wikibout. The uploader of the photo says on his profile to "Feel fre to use my pictures (only those here at sxc, though!) for anything you like. It would be nice if you would let me know about it, if you do use my pictures, but you're absolutely not obligated to do so." Based on that, I'm tempted to point you to {{no rights reserved}}, but please check with another user or the photographer if you're unsure. Thanks, Sango123 18:27, 1 July 2006 (UTC)

[edit] Help with deletion

Hey Wikibout, thanks for the add, I have been using wikipedia for a couple of years, but wanted to upload a page about a new band that I got some information about, that are having a tv. show on at the end of the year and have appeared on japanese tv, I have nothing to do with the band but a member Jaranda keeps deleting it. I really want to contribute to wikipedia but if my articles keep getting delete I will have to stop I hope you can help Horfsby 18:37, 1 July 2006 (UTC)horfsby

thanks for the quick get back, Ive seen one of the girls in a mag, and they have been big in Japan and continue to have music played. Ive heard them on the radio and have heard that their tv show will be showing one minute clips at the end of summer on T4 and around XMAS there will have a TV show, I thought I was just updating some details as there have been forums questioning it. I can understand what has happened as Jaranda must have thought I was doing something that was going against the TERMS AND CONDITIONS. I was just trying to make a page after I got some facts and used with permission from the Management, Im sure if I wasn't a novice it wouldn't have written it in such a naive way. If you could contact Jaranda to make sure he doesn't take down my hard earned work. This band has deals etc. and not a small nobody. I thought I could get the ball rolling. Many thanks Horfsby 23:24, 1 July 2006 (UTC)horfsby

[edit] North Korean Missle Test (1998)

The test was widely covered at the time and very controversial, as it provoked protests from Japan and the US, who believe that it is designed to carry a nuclear warhead. The stub article did not assert this, however. This article needs expansion, so it asserts notability, not deletion. Sorry for my edit summary, as I realize this event happened eight years ago and not every editor here would necessarily have remembered this event. JChap 23:58, 4 July 2006 (UTC)

[edit] Your concern about my copying

You posted a comment on my Talk page about my not copying from other websites information about Members of the U.S. house of Representatives. Please be advised, however, that they are public domain U.S. Government works of the Biographical Directory of the United States Congress. There is, in fact, a category logging such copying. —Markles 11:01, 20 July 2006 (UTC)

[edit] BAD GRAMMAR

As I said before, this is a vote/discussion page. Stating my opinion, which happens to be the same as 15 others, could not be farther from willy-nilly. You must have a limited grasp on the meaning of the words "well-written". This is a list, listing the malls with a hyphen next to the mall stating the city. Being banned is for vandals, impersonators, and users who continually disrupt wikipedia. I would reomment that you read wikipedias policies. Would you please quote some of my bad grammer? Wikibout-Talk to me! 16:02, 27 July 2006 (UTC)

  • "Stating my opinion, which happens to be the same as 15 others, could not be farther from willy-nilly." Try using an apostrophe after "others"; you're referring to others' opinions when you compare them [the opinions] to your own opinion.
  • "You must have a limited grasp on the meaning of the words 'well-written'." Put the period outside of the end quotation mark. Do you know all the effort people like me have to put into fixing this common error on the part of careless Wikipedians such as yourself?
  • "This is a list, listing the malls with a hyphen next to the mall stating the city." Stylistically, it's ignorant to use two forms of the word "list" adjacent to one another in a sentence.
  • "I would reomment that you read wikipedias policies." "Reomment" isn't a word, nor is it even close to the word "recommend." Also, in the English language, we make a noun into a possessive by adding an apostrophe plus an "s," not simply by pluralizing the noun. Evidently, you aren't aware of the correct rules for apostrophe usage.
  • "Would you please quote some of my bad grammer?" Perhaps most ironic of all, you misspelled the word "grammar" as you ended a paragraph defending your own English-language skills (and ended a sentence challenging me to point out your numerous errors). —The preceding unsigned comment was added by 129.33.49.251 (talkcontribs).
